So much has happened in the last month, it is ridiculous. Despite all that I will inform you of, there is one thing that hasn’t yet happened. There is still a cancer wing at the children’s hospital where young children with cancer are being given chemotherapy and radiation treatments that cause them to lose their hair – and sometimes their lives. Meanwhile, I would face federal charges were I to approach those children’s parents and offer a potential cancer cure in the form of the phoenix tears medicine I know how to make. So though there is much to be happy about, and the epilepsy CBD cure (a version of the phoenix tears made by people I taught to make the tears years ago) is now on CNN and major news media, I am still not able to treat children with cancer and attempt to extend their lives. Until I can do this – or others do it – I will not consider the mission complete and I will continue to fight the “Perfect Corporation” forces that oppose this.

To the 2,000 epilepsy patients on the Marijuana Refugee waiting list in Colorado: I have tested an ordinary strain of widely available Canadian imported HEMP SEED OIL. And the test results should give people everywhere hope!!  Revealed in test results linked to at the end of the post – THERE IS .01 GRAMS OF CBD IN ORDINARY HEMP SEED OIL AVAILABLE LEGALLY EVERYWHERE! Which means, for epilepsy, Draven’s disease – and other diseases where the traditional THC heavy Cannabis Oil is not applicable – ORDINARY WHOLE FOODS/VITAMIN STORE/NATURAL GROCER PURCHASED HEMP SEED OIL MAY WORK!!! If you take a few ounces a day, of course. Might I suggest one ounce in a smoothie in the morning, and a couple more times throughout the day for a month, until you see results. 100 grams of ordinary Hemp seed oil (slightly less than 4 ounces) contains approximately as much CBD as one gram of the “charlotte’s web” oil. It’s a lot more hemp oil – I know – but if you can’t afford to be a “Marijuana Refugee” and come to a compassionate state to get the CBD strain oil – if you can even get it (there is a huge waiting list but other options do exist) – then please try the hemp oil in the meantime, it can only be positive.

Secondarily, Project CBD blessed the Vitamin Cannabis team with a strain called Lady Harlequin, which I took a year to grow and finally harvested two different samples. One test showed 15% CBD and 6% THC, and one test showed 14% CBD and 5% THC. Both are great results, but here is the CBD SECRET: they are from the same plant. The test with 14% CBD was harvested at 5 weeks, while the test with 15% CBD was harvested at 8 weeks. What this secret reveals is that if you are going for CBD, you can get twice the harvests in as regular 8 week cycle plants! In theory, and we will test this soon, high CBD cannabis strains could be harvested at 4 weeks – or even sooner – to get just the CBD without as much of the THC. Save yourself weeks when growing CBD strains, and keep the same ratio of CBD to THC! The test results for both are posted here. We would love to hear other feedback on this subject, but in the meantime, to growers out there, if you have CBD plants you do not need to wait a full 8 weeks if you are growing for CBD content!

Thirdly on CBD, there is mass confusion between the heavy CBD oil (which is on the Sanjay Gupta CNN specials and other major news media) that may cure epilepsy, Draven’s, and potentially autism, and the heavy THC “Phoenix Tears” medicine that may cure cancer, Alzheimer’s, and a host of other ailments. Add to the confusion the “Cannabis Juicers” movement who ingest thousands of milligrams of raw inactivated cannabis, and we have many different options for people to try to help themselves – all of which seem to work in slightly different ways. I am doing my best to guide folks down the different paths and I would encourage everyone to help others differentiate between the CBD Cannabis Oil and the THC Phoenix Tears oil. They are essentially the same oil, just made with a different variety of the hemp/cannabis plant.

Along those lines, Utah, Florida, and several other states just legalized the use of the CBD Cannabis oil as long as it has less than .03% THC in most cases. There are several ways to get this oil, but if you don’t have an emergency case please try the hempseed oil remedy in large amounts first – though I will say, thousands of parents are moving to Colorado to get access to medicine for their children. So far it is going quite well, as there are many people here who are willing to help. Ultimately, though, I would like to see access to all forms of cannabis oil medicine everywhere – and lets empty out these damn Children’s hospital cancer wards and cure the kids first :-)

In national news, Martha Stewart has a new line of Hemp Yarn available for sale – a sign of the apocalypse for sure… Stephen Colbert calls Colorado “Potsylvania” for our “jazz cigarettes” but ultimately decides to “put his republican morals aside to rake in all the cash” from the taxes on Colorado cannabis. “The market has a spoken and it is a tokin!” he says. It’s a hysterical commentary you can see linked to here: http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/5js43m/colorado-s-booming-marijuana-industry.

Spring Breakers are breaking to Colorado for our legal cannabis. Before I recently quit my job at a recreational dispensary to look for work at a medical one, I saw taxi cab after rental car after taxi cab pulling up to the pot shop with college aged tourists eager to spend money legally on cannabis. They walk out with smiles. It’s awesome to see, but I know my heart lies in the medical aspect of all of this.

Speaking of medical, after 22 years of fighting it, the Feds finally sign off on a university study to gauge the effects of cannabis on PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder for which there are military and civilian versions of, both of which can be helped with Cannabis. I say this having witnessed it first hand when returning Iraq veterans flocked to Colorado to benefit from the medicine available here. I think they will find massive benefits for the disorder from cannabis use, but then again I think they’ll find massive benefits from cannabis use on a lot of disorders, diseases, and ailments.

In other news, there was a pot leaf on the USA Today website and it linked to a story on Cannabis Oil for epilepsy and the marijuana refugees flocking to our state to be treated by the Realm of Caring foundation and other groups. It’s awesome to see so much coverage and even better to see kids being cured. The green is rolling into our state as the pot sales were “higher” than expected – no pun intended. In fact, the tax money is coming in so fast they will have to lower prices or everyone in Colorado may get a tax refund from the state due to our TABOR laws which require the government to give all money not budgeted for back to the citizens. We’ll know more in a few months, but legalization has brought smiles to many faces regardless of whether you voted for it or not…Mexico and Texas may legalize – more signs of the apocalypse…but a friend of Willie Nelson’s is in on it in Texas which is cool! The banks give Cannabis business the “Grow Ahead”, but the cash can’t smell like weed… :-). My former employer bought “Stink Sacks” to put the money in – specially treated bags so the cash won’t smell. Hysterical!

And lastly, I went to a concert in Denver at the Gothic theatre: The Toadies played their “Rubberneck” album. My fiancé (Hemp Girl), a friend Black Beard, and I went to see them perform their song “I Burn.” In Colorado, before 420 meant pot friendly, you would ask someone new “Hey, do you burn?” as a way of asking if they smoked pot. I always answered “I Burn” when asked, and when I heard the Toadies song of the same name, it became an anthem of my twenties. Listening to Bill Hicks comedy and “I Burn” while smoking cannabis, dreaming of legalization, and praying for a day when I could walk into a store and buy weed. That “prayer in every spark” became a reality in January, and though there is much still to be done to make sure all have access to this medicine and all can grow it themselves, I still “burn” and pray for those who are sick and in need. Spark a bowl and pray with me for the revolution that leads to the cancer cure.

We all await patiently Christian Laurette’s and Rick Simpson’s next great feat: “Run from the Cure 2” as 4-20-2014 approaches….it promises to be historic. If you haven’t seen the trailer for it yet please click here: http://youtu.be/Qv8yxuv6e1w.

Viva la evolucion, viva la oil!

Positive thoughts everyone’s way :-)

Ken Gorman’s Murder 7th Anniversary

Folks, today is the 7th year since marijuana activist Ken Gorman was murdered in his home in Denver. Please smoke a bowl to celebrate Ken’s life even if you didn’t know him personally.

I worked closely with Ken on several projects, including his “It’s a Cannabis Christmas” comedy CD which he produced and attended many 420 rallies with him where he threw out joints. He had a fire about him – one time I was with him at fast food burger joint Wendy’s when Ken told the youth group teenagers in front of us their burgers would taste better after a joint, and that cannabis was in the bible. They laughed and smiled but only said they were with their church right now. Later while Ken and I were eating, a Holy Bible slammed down on the table, disrupting my fries. A pissed off youth group leader had heard the comment about cannabis in the bible and demanded Ken “Show Me Where.” Ken calmly opened the first page to Genesis, read the verse about “Seed bearing plants” and asked the gentleman, “Now then, does the cannabis plant have seeds?” I would have laughed out loud had I not feared the Christian would have gone devil on us in a rage, but he didn’t. He said a few more words about not appreciating Ken talking about drugs to his youth group and walked away – maybe with a new respect for the plant. That’s just the kind of guy Ken was – he was a riot to be around, always causing “trouble” but he genuinely cared for the people in his life, and those he just met that he could help.

Ken always told his close friends he would be killed in a “drug deal gone bad” and the police would never solve it, but it would lead to marijuana being legalized world-wide. I never believed him, until 7 years ago he was murdered – shot in the chest – in a “drug deal gone bad.” At the ensuing 420 rally after his death, the formation of the movement that would legalize marijuana in Colorado was founded; set in stone and ready to mobilize. What we accomplished together has made history here, and now we are seeing pot laws changing the world over. All because of a movement that was made so strong by one event. One man’s death – his sacrifice – made all of us here realize just how important it was that cannabis laws be changed and now, no more waiting and BS’ing around. The simple fact is big money came in at the last second to help Colorado legalize. The groundswell was growing already, through grassroots efforts led by brave men, brave truth tellers, like Ken Gorman.

Ken exemplifies George Carlin’s quote, “In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” Gorman was a revolutionary act his whole life. He told the truth, even to those that weren’t willing to listen yet. Now they hear the 420 music, Ken :-)

Miguel Lopez, the bearer of the torch for the Mile High City’s 420 rally, wrote and released a nice press piece about Ken. I have included it for you to read here. Please take a toke to Governor Pothead, the KG1, Ken Gorman. Rest in Peace, my friend, knowing the people you taught the game saw victory in your state first. Viva~ Capn Cannabis Feb 17th 2014

The following is the press release from Miguel Lopez:

FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

Ken Gorman murdered seven years ago today. Legacy lives on while murder remains unsolved.

February 17, 2014 – Denver, CO – Seven years ago today, gunmen in masks walked into renowned marijuana activist Ken Gorman’s home and shot him in the chest. The murderers left cash and marijuana behind, and Ken’s death left behind grieving marijuana activists. His murder remains unsolved.

Ken’s lasting legacy is one that touched members of the marijuana community of all walks, but primarily the poor and disadvantaged. His charisma attracted a large following and he had an almost cult like following of young urban adults of whom many were homeless or poor. He taught of the injustices of marijuana prohibition and how it impacted minority and poorer communities the most. In 1993 he started the Denver 420 Rally at Civic Center Park, which through time gathered hundreds of attendees.

Many people in the marijuana scene today never knew Ken. Acting as though they were the ones to bring about the drug policy reform Ken launched in Colorado, they forget that there were people who literally made the ultimate sacrifice for them to be able to capitalize on the growing marijuana industry. It is the explicit desire of the Denver 420 Rally to remind the marijuana community of the history of one of its founders. The Denver 420 Rally also strives to keep his memory alive and see his murderers brought to justice.

Tragically, the fact that Ken’s murder has never been solved highlights an issue that is largely ignored by the general public, and that is the reality that law enforcement rarely serves justice for the poor.

The Denver 420 Rally experienced this recently with last year’s shooting. The Denver Police and Denver City Council want to nag the organizers of the rally about security, yet even with cameras and witnesses, they still haven’t found the shooter. Federal agents nabbed the Boston bomber and he wasn’t even at the scene! This goes to show the level of priority being given to two different communities. To add insult to injury, cops this year plan to write citations in spite of the $11,000 that the Denver 420 Rally paid for the permit. They don’t write citations for The Taste of Denver, which also draws a wealthier crowd.

This year will be the Denver 420 Rally’s biggest event yet. Historically a rally, the Denver 420 Rally is evolving into a festival. Yet, that does not mean that the organization will stop being a political organization and promoting human and civil rights. There have been a lot of positive changes in drug policy reform, but until everyone is free and marijuana is decriminalized, the Denver 420 Rally will still be championing for social justice.

We hope to see you there and in the famous words of the late Ken Gorman, “Keep on smoking them joints!”

February Newsletter 2014

Folks, I wouldn’t be writing this e-mail to you if it wasn’t for Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette and the bravery they demonstrated in re-releasing an illegal cancer cure contained within a harmless plant. I have said many times they deserve a Nobel Prize for what they have done; they freakin’ deserve it. Lately, medical science has been backing up Rick’s claims to the utmost extent. I have big news in this newsletter, starting with filmmaker Christian Laurette’s “Run from the Cure 2″ movie trailer.

When RFTC came out originally, it changed the world, and my life personally. It allowed me to save family members, and random strangers, and confirm what Rick said to be outright true in every fashion. To have been a part of this epic journey where I was accidentally part of a legitimate, working, now medically proven cancer cure, can only be described as an act of God. I did not set out to do that, I set out to legalize marijuana. It just so happened the two were intertwined. I have always been a religious and spiritual person, to have witnessed with mine own eyes such miracles, such struggle overcome, and such joy, brings tears to my eyes. I am “Rich at Heart” my friends, and you can be too. Make some oil and cure someone – you will feel what I feel… :-)

Please watch the trailer for Christian Laurette’s second film about Rick Simpson here: http://youtu.be/Qv8yxuv6e1w.

Spread it to those who need to know that cannabis cures disease. And by those who need to know, I mean everyone! The film trailer is a work of art in its own right. The film itself is setting up to be a historic document telling how the cannabis oil cure was released from its cage. Please share it, share your comments, and add your verse to the poem that is this rising story. Rising like the phoenix, from the ashes of prohibition. I rate the trailer “Top Shelf” and am honored to have been a part.

In addition to that, special thanks to Justin Kander of Phoenixtears.ca for the links to THE FIRST OFFICIAL CLINICAL TRIAL OF HEMP OIL on cancer – a leukemia patient- who did have the cancer eliminated- but died from other causes.  You can see her test results over a 72 day period here: http://karger.com/Article/FullText/356446

About the rapidly advancing medical research into Cannabis oil, I am thankful for it to finally be happening. There were some holdouts who just wouldn’t believe until medical science started confirming it in clinical trials; well, here ya go! This trial, and others, have led a group in San Francisco to call for immediate clinical trials to begin in the U.S. This comes as President Obama says he will not reschedule marijuana through executive order, but he would sign a bill doing so if congress passed it and it came across his desk. It sets up a plan for certain representatives in un-pot friendly districts to still vote “no” on cannabis “legalization” to save face, while a bunch of others vote “Yes” and send a legalization bill across Obama’s desk, which he will sign – then roll up a fatty! Then it will be up to the states to decide what to do about pot… and I already know how my state feels :-)

And did I mention Hemp has already been legalized (for universities and state agricultural depts.) in the U.S.? Snuck into the farm bill just signed? Well it is, folks. Hemp is legal in my home state of Colorado for ordinary citizens, and the rest of the U.S.A. in at least some form (view article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-/obama-marijuana-legalization_b_4768009.html). Can you believe it? I know somewhere Harry Anslinger is rolling over in his grave. About fucking time – pardon my French. But About FUCKING TIME!! And soon marijuana will be re-scheduled. In time for 4-20-2014, I hope :-)

Wow, what a sequence of events so quickly :-) :-) :-) Trinity of smiles, folks…

In other news, it is entirely possible the Colorado marijuana market could generate – get this – one billion dollars the first year, with over $287 million of that being tax money going to the state. Right now the estimate is $500 million, but another several dozen shops are set to open in the next few weeks.  I talked with our lead grower and he said we produced 700 pounds of pot last year. At $5,000 a pound retail, that’s over $235 million dollars retail – just from one facility. Our company has double digit figures of facilities, and there are lots of companies like ours, in addition to actual dispensaries (I work for a wholesale cannabis grow company, stationed at a dispensary – the best of both worlds), and edibles manufacturers grows. Total, by my math, there are over 400 facilities in the state who will earn $3.5 million, and that puts us at the Billion Dollar figure. $375 million is the most conservative estimate, $500 million more realistic, but a Billion is certainly possible, especially if tourists flock to the state in the summer, which is already a given. A lot of people planning “Hiking” trips here this year…

$1 Billion, and $287 million in tax revenue – and that is not including at all the other money the state is raking in from tourism, taxes on burritos/scissors/ electricity taxes. It’s all adding up to a great economy in our state. How is yours doing in your non-legal state? The town of Carbondale on the Western Slope of Colorado is seeing so many people this winter due to their one open recreational dispensary that the grocery store, gas station, and other retailers are reporting sales numbers as if it was the peak of summer tourist season – and it’s a freezing winter while they are making this money. See the article here: http://mmjbusinessdaily.com/rec-shop-lifts-businesses-in-colorado-mountain-town/.

It’s all 50 year olds and over – a growing group of cannabis enthusiasts – most seeking relief from pain and a desire to get off multiple medications with nasty side effects. Might I just say, welcome! Bring us your broken, your tired, your sick and your poor! There are those here in Colorado who can help you heal!

There is a great article on CBD you can read by following this link: http://learnaboutsam.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/CBD-brochure5.pdf.

It explains some of what the hype is, and why there is so much of it. Articles have come out recently, a 22 year old with autism has “had his light turned back on” by a CBD version of Phoenix Tears Cannabis Oil. Another 3 year old was able to clap for the first time and is experiencing similar “coming out” of the human spirit from the depths of disease. It is a blessing to the mothers of these children – I can’t help but cry a little just writing this. The genuine relief they are experiencing, seeing their children healing – as I watch on the news – is a blessing. Thank you, Lord, for Cannabis, Christian, and Rick Simpson. Children are being healed…

In related news, Josh Stanley’s Realm of Caring CBD oil non-profit has expanded, and now has a northern Colorado office to handle the patients, which now number 300 on a waiting list. The Stanley family has started “Strains of Hope” which will provide Charlotte’s Web high CBD medicine to other states and shops to begin healing children in other parts of the country, and the world – as they have an international waiting list. Families that can are moving to Colorado – 1,000 already, and more each month. The flood of marijuana refugees seeking cannabis oil in our state continues to grow. Other groups have stepped up to meet the challenge and help provide the needed CBD oil for all these children. The sense of community is strong here – we all get along – to move forward, put prohibition in the past, and put healing on the agenda.

On a few final notes, I had the honor of installing Radio Frequency Identification Tags on all the cannabis plants at our grow the other day – one of the first in history. I fought against these “seed to sale” regulations, but now I help implement them. How ironic! But I’m happy, and it’s the best paying job I’ve ever had, including managing a $1 Million a year pizza shop (which I just was able to leave). I joke at work that I would follow whatever regulations they throw at us, even if they said we had to wear hula hoops while harvesting. It became a joke: the Hula Hoop Regulation, you better follow it, $1000 fine if you don’t. It’s a joke, but we mean it. We would wear hula hoops just to grow cannabis and heal people – if that’s what it took. :-)

Speaking of Hula Hoops, after window smashing raids a couple months ago, all but 3 of the DEA raided pot shops are back open and still awaiting any charges – which probably aren’t coming. The feds and state (and IRS) flexed their muscle – the shops with $1 Million dollar grows claiming $300 a day in sales while other similar shops sold $3000 are gone – now they claim what they sell, and pay the taxes on it. That’s what it was all about: taxes. Compliant shops will be fine as they have been. The boys raided better play nice to the state, but they are back open and that’s a good thing.

A new term is circling through the industry “Trimmigrant” – a term for both a cannabis industry employee who transfers over from trimming to budtending or another cannabis job (very common 4 everyone to start as a trimmer), and also a person who moves here from another state to take a job in the cannabis industry. It’s cool to see so many cool people linking together in one state for one purpose. I’m not a trimmigrant yet – I’m still enjoying my time exposed to so much cannabis as just a trimmer – but one day I hope to make Vitamin Cannabis pills legally in a lab.

In the meantime, I’m writing an epic book about the story I’ve witnessed, the people I’ve met, the cannabis oil I’ve made and consumed, and the crazy life in pre- and post-legalization I’ve lived. I’ll leave that legacy to my Cannakids; Kyle Jr’s now 3 years old, and Serafina Faith turns 2 next month. It feels like only yesterday Kyle Jr was a newborn, I was fearing federal charges, and pot was illegal. Now they will grow up in a world where marijuana is sold in stores, Dad’s not a criminal anymore, and the cure for cancer can grow in our backyard… How happy I am for that! :-)

One more thank you to Rick Simpson, Christian Laurette, & Justin Kander for their contributions to this newsletter, and my life in general. I wish you all the best life has to offer. To everyone who has been a part of the Vitamin Cannabis story, I wish you the same. J

To those that read this far, I love you – I truly do. Positive thoughts and energy your way!

URGENT UPDATE- LINES STILL OUT THE DOOR IN COLORADO!

I had to take the time to wish you all a happy new year! And, of course, update you on the ongoing revolutionary activities taking place in Colorado right now. It is urgent because if you are seeing what I’m seeing (lines still around the block TODAY for pot), you know that other cash strapped states and cities are seeing this, and it looks like the Federal Government of the United States will be rescheduling the cannabis plant soon as cities and states have begun ignoring the federal law and begun trying to pass and passing cannabis legality laws already (GO NEW YORK!). But let me tell you a little about how it went down… :-)

Folks, people from all over the world – literally, and all over the US – waited in line in the snow and freezing cold at 8 am to become the first few thousand people in the world to legally buy marijuana. Some camped out, but the very first was an Iraq war vet who purchased marijuana to help with his PTSD, as cameras rolled. It was “High fives All Around” as the local paper put it, as over a MILLION dollars in pot sales rolled out of just under 20 total shops open January 1st. The rush was so intense shops began limiting purchases almost immediately as it was realized Colorado could be out of its recreational stock sooner than expected- though emergency measures by the state should prevent that from happening (i.e., actually licensing the rest of the 150 shops to open). It was beautiful to see people lined up around the block at most of the locations, and the best part is, it all went off without a hitch, a complaint, or a problem. Thousands of tax dollars were raised (over $287,000 in taxes, to be exact) and people were happy all over; and by the end of the week, over $5 million in confirmed sales were made. The rest of the country and world saw how peacefully a legal pot market can operate.

However, it’s not really about the numbers! We all expected a good first couple days for legal weed in Colorado, but here is the thing: the lines are still out there as more and more people are coming out to buy legal weed. They come and buy and wait in line immediately to buy more (totally legal). It’s been ridiculous, incredible, and amazing to watch. Even Nancy Grace calling pot smokers “fat, lazy, and a danger to society” (WHAT?!) can’t bring us down. The city and state are happy with the money, the cops are happy with the money and peacefulness of the crowd, and – most importantly – patients who didn’t want to be on the medical list, and ordinary citizens of the world they are happy, too.  They now have access to this sacred herb medicine from God.

I was blessed to work with the late great Colorado Marijuana Activist Ken Gorman when he was throwing the 420 rallies on the steps of the capital building (after being chased out of the park) and other rallies in Denver to promote pot’s legality. There were days when only 50 people would show up, and one time, only 20. We thought 12 were cops and undercovers, so we felt outnumbered! It never fazed Ken. He said, “I won’t be here to see it, but one day it will be legal, right here, and the people will show up then.” That was the kind of guy Ken was, always preaching to his friends. Sometimes prophesizing about his own death by “unknown shooter” in a “drug deal gone bad”. He said it would all lead to pot being legal here in Colorado first. I never truly believed him, until I started to see it happening.

First, Ken was murdered in his house in 2007, in a “drug deal gone bad” and the “unknown shooter” still has not been found. At the following 4-20 rally, unpermitted by the city, but an informal memorial for Ken led by his daughter Val, the 420 Colorado movement to legalize weed was born. Thousands gathered to honor Ken by showing civil disobedience to the state and smoking weed together at a single moment, 4:20 pm on 4-20-2007, as Ken had been doing for years. The faces at that rally, and the following year, led the way to Colorado’s cannabis future that I see today – and it’s beautiful!

If you look at my youtube.com/capncannabis account, you see a video history of Colorado’s victorious marijuana movement. From my videos at that rally in 2007, you see all the people that now I’ve watched being interviewed on CNN, and national news, as our “movement” became a “force to be reckoned with”. It was a small movement of a group of dedicated people, but it all started with Ken Gorman, and his life and death. Watching more of my videos you see comedy shorts, more activist videos, and then suddenly I stumble across a working cancer cure through Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette, and the Vitamin Cannabis team is born. Many of us feel the Cannabis as a Cancer cure story, and the minds it changed immediately when people who were against cannabis suddenly had a sick family member whose only option was the herb, was the extra 10 to 20% we needed in both the polls and the actual vote to legalize cannabis once and for all. We may never know if that is true, but I know it played a part, in the overall story of courage, that we all showed in winning this war against our plant.

We will honor Ken Gorman this 4-20-2014 once again – in the same park he used to toss out joints to the crowd in. Ken’s daughter Val has said, “If paper cups were illegal, Ken would have fought for paper cups.” It just happened to be cannabis that Ken was fighting for. The activists he trained, including myself (I released Ken’s “It’s A Cannabis Christmas” CD and worked closely with him for 2 years), have finished the job, and in the way that Ken predicted prior to his death. We will celebrate victory day for cannabis this 4-20, and those of us in the know, will also celebrate the life and death of Governor Pothead, the KG1, Ken Gorman.

I’ll still be releasing my book “Vitamin Cannabis: Or, How I learned to love the Cure and fear the Perfect Corporation” sometime in 2014, and it will tell the whole story I have been blessed to witness from beginning to end. Prohibition of marijuana started and ended in Colorado – and for the 50 or so of you who I dearly love who actually read this newsletter (I do love you!) take three special tokes tonight if you partake….

1.      For Ken Gorman, who started this all.

2.      For the end of prohibition, and victory.

3.      For God, who is watching all this and laughing at how ridiculous it was that we would try to eliminate his/her most potent plant!! They tried Lord, and after 70 years of still trying, they finally gave up.  :-)

There is of course more to come, but the events of this past week have inspired a “high fever induced” spoken word piece, as I’ve been ill, but home, and able to watch my activist friends on national news channels. Pot’s never received so much coverage – and 99% of it is positive. I also just saw “Dr. Feelgood” Sanjay Gupta’s report on Landon, a child in Colorado with ALS who is using Cannabis Oil to keep his cancer away- it was an amazing report. He called again for rescheduling cannabis, and scientists are now coming forward with solid evidence cannabinoids kill cancer cells. Federal legality is imminent. Cannabis curing cancer was on CNN tonight…Wow.

To top it all off, the public school kids in CA who were exposed to meningitis will get the illegally imported vaccine from Europe, just like the kids at the Ivy league school with the same outbreak. It’s good to see things working out so well. J  Positive thoughts and good vibrations to all of you – may the “new energies” in “your town” watch over you in the coming year. Do your best to deserve the love you receive. Keep the light, my friends, and never doubt “that a small group of dedicated people, can change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has…”

From where I stand today,

hundreds of people stand in line for legal cannabis.

From where I stand today,

medicine is dispersed in stores,

instead of on shady streets.

From where I stand today,

once vacant factories and churches,

now house growing cannabis plants.

Employing people,

Empowering people

and for the people.

From where I stand today,

customers who just paid 33% in taxes on a $35 1/8 of weed,

yell “I’ve never been so happy to pay a tax in my life.”

From where I stand today,

I see need stricken schools ready to accept

the $40 million in pot taxes they will receive.

$287,000 the 1st day.

From where I stand today,

I see other states watching the long lines,

and changing their own laws,

to benefit from the once hidden pot market,

now been revealed.

From where I stand today,

the great illusion is over,

prohibition is dead in Colorado.

And the clock’s in its final ticks for the US,

then the world.

From where I stand today,

as a pot activist fighting

 for the cause now won,

I see

only

 joy.

:-)

God bless Colorado
