Howdy folks from the wild wild west!

Denver, the Mile Legally High city was in full marijuana rebellion spirit over the 4-20 weekend and it has taken me this long to recover to write the recap! I had a great time, and though “the filthy white lines that the airplanes leave behind” did their best to rain out our 4-20 celebration it did little to dampen the dank times we all had.

I started my Saturday April 19th at the High Times Cannabis Cup. Parking was a nightmare; cars from NY, Alaska, MS, MI, RI and even Canadian license plates! Fortunately, I had friends leaving who gave me their spot, so Hemp Girl and I were able to be in the recreational marijuana section of the Cannabis Cup at 4:20 PM. To my surprise, I was one of just a few people commemorating the moment. I brought a little of our Jack Herer strain grown from seed to have a special toke to Jack, Ken Gorman, and the others who are with us in spirit, watching this all happen. From there we walked around the huge venue and marveled at all the out-of-staters and international visitors to the cup whose wide eyes were easy to spot. There were a few booths (of the 500!) that had actual growing marijuana plants on display. Many event goers paused to touch the plant leaves, and nervously squeeze a bud. These were the first pot plants these people had ever touched. They took cell phone photos, posed, and I’ll never forget the smiles on their faces as they had their plant cherries popped. I take for granted the fact I’ve now worked with tens of thousands of pot plants; seen them, held them, trimmed them, loved them… For people in other parts of the world, working hands on with a cannabis plant would still get them prison time. For me, it gets me a legal paycheck…or at least it used to :-).

Although I have spoken at the Ken Gorman Memorial 4-20 Marijuana Legalization Rally the past two years (it has been a great honor), this was the first year the rally was not named in Ken Gorman’s honor, and it was the first year a private commercial events company took over the running of the rally. Many longtime activists like myself were excluded from speaking at this year’s event, mainly due to the fact that my speeches from the past two years – if given this year – would have caused the event organizers to lose their permits, as I would have encouraged illegal civil disobedience from the crowd by asking them to “take a toke to their freedom.” So when I woke up 4-20-2014 and suddenly felt Ken Gorman’s spirit urging me to head to Civic Center Park anyways, I loaded my bowl and headed downtown. After passing through security, and posing under a large sign reading “Public Marijuana Use is illegal”, which was forced by the city of Denver, for a photo op, I merged into the center of the crowd. I got out my bowl, but paused for a second as the spirit of Ken was strong around me. I put the pot away and got out my camera and began taking video of the crowd – right as three Denver Police Officers made their way right to me! In past rallies, the police could not walk through the crowd. Not so this year; the police were attempting to bust me for smoking my pipe with cannabis at the 420 marijuana rally, but since I had no pipe in my hand there was nothing they could do but retreat back into the crowd, which parted like a sea to let them out. It’s an entertaining video I’ll use in Vitamin Cannabis 2 :-).

After the incident, I was handed a joint by a fellow rally goer next to me and it was the lone time all 4-20 weekend I smoked pot with a stranger. It was not like that in the past, we all used to smoke together. This year was not as political, not as revolutionary, not a big deal at all – even though it was a big deal!! It’s strange to see this all as “normal” now when we used to be labeled and targeted for our beliefs that cannabis was harmless and should be legal. We used to be chased out of the park; now we were herded into it. Another stage was set up – I heard later – that had a political element, but with the music stage blasting tunes it was difficult to focus on anything other than the main stage. During B.O.B.’s performance at 4:20 PM 4-20-2014, I felt Ken Gorman and Jack Herer smiling down on all of us. 10,000 gathered in a park smoking cannabis at the same time. It was different this 4-20 for sure, but it was still epic, amazing and something to behold. I think back to the early rallies with just a few hundred brave souls. I’ll tell my kids about those days because they will never be seen again…

In local news, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra has announced three BYOC events, with the BYOC standing for “Bring Your Own Cannabis.” It seems the orchestra is about to go into financial ruin and these concerts are a last ditch effort to bring a newer younger audience to the traditional stuffy class of concert going people. Many tuxedo wearing old school orchestra supporters are pissed, but let’s be honest, there aren’t a lot of them left. If the symphony doesn’t do something to bring in new people, it won’t be around. So even though many “letters to the editor” of our local papers decry the symphony head for these BYOC concerts, many people are planning on attending and bringing their own cannabis to consume while listening to some epic music. I see no problem with Buds and Beethoven, or Symphony 420. :-)

In the “Piss Me Off” section of the newsletter: the Perfect Corporation has found a way to stop me from doing cannabinoid testing of our oils and cannabis. It’s not just me they are blocking, they have blocked all ordinary citizens from testing, including the parents of children who need the cannabis oil and use testing to ensure their kids are getting what they need. (See link here: http://www.denverpost.com/marijuana/ci_25688115/marijuana-testing-labs-barred-from-taking-samples-from). It is a sad act and there was a two page rant on why the Colorado State government is blocking testing that I had written, but, in the hopes of staying positive, I’m not going to include it. I’m just going to say I hope that testing from patients is restored in Colorado soon. Another caregiving friend has pointed me to a lab for you east coasters, though. So here is a link to them: knowyourgrow.co (NOT DOT COM!).

Lastly, regarding the ancient Hebrew anointing oil called “Kaneh Bosm.” For a long time now I have known the biblical references to a cannabis, myrrh and frankincense based oil known in the ancient Hebrew texts as Kaneh Bosm. I attended private Christian school through 6th grade, memorizing many sections of the Bible. I am also the 4th son of a Virginia minister who runs a large church program still to this day that reaches millions of people. I have always been a man of strong faith in God, a higher power, and the spirit of the earth that resides in, and connects us all. My 2 year old daughter is named Serafina Faith, after the Seraphim angels, and my faith in God.

When I began working with the phoenix tears oil I felt a strong holy presence while making the medicine. Then after Vitamin Cannabis was released the e-mails began, from people asking me if I knew I was releasing the secrets of the Knights of the Templar, and also from religious people asking about the Kaneh Bosm and implying the cannabis oil I was making was the same. In researching ancient religious texts, I discovered what they were saying had basis in fact. Written in ancient languages, a recipe for an oil that could extend life or even bring people back from near death. The Knights of the Templar existed for centuries, being sought out by kings and nobles for their life extending treatments. In the bible, Jesus uses the Kaneh Bosm to cure blindness and leprosy, both of which could be treated with large amounts of cannabis oil, or what we call today, the Phoenix Tears.

I felt so strongly the spiritual calling of the Kaneh Bosm I considered naming my consulting company after the sacramental oil, but not being of Jewish decent I wondered if that might be offensive to some. In talking with a fellow trimmer about the Kaneh Bosm, and my feelings that God is present when I’m making it, he casually mentioned he had heard many people discovering, through DNA testing, that they did in fact have Hebrew blood in them, even if they did not seem or “look” Jewish.

I have always felt connected to ancient Africa, Israel and connected greatly to American Indian Tribes, but like most mainly and obviously white people, it never occurred to me that we all might really have descended from the same place regardless of what we looked like. In Christian school they always told us we all came from Adam and Eve, and in my metaphysical studies the “All of Us Are One” mantra seemed to be saying the same thing: we all came from the same place. Could it be true?

So I decided I needed an answer; something in writing that would let me know once and for all where I came from, what blood and DNA flows through me. I sent away for a DNA test and a month later I found out the reason I felt so connected.  It is true, we are all one…

Below is a copy of my DNA test which shows very clearly that, despite what I look like, I am 3% African, 3% Native American, and 1% Jewish in addition to my 91% mainly European other influences.

If someone like myself can have origins 5,000 years ago in Africa and Israel, we all do! I’m not unique or special, we all are!! We are all God’s children; from our DNA to our bones to the blood that flows through us. What reverberates through me, reverberates through you, reverberates through all of us. The vibration of life stemming from long ago still runs through these veins.

I’m glad I discovered where I came from, so many moons prior. I would urge you all to look into DNA testing to find your origins. Find out why you feel the way you do.

We really are all one; we really are all connected. We really all came from the same place. Now if we could just get ourselves back to the garden again… :-)

May the blessings of peace, love, and beauty embrace your life…

Positive thoughts to you all.

Folks, the Vitamin Cannabis team has been having a little fun lately using a book called “Cannabis Alchemy” from 1974 – and attempting to make a 99% THC “Shatter” or Wax, as it’s called here in the Mile High city. I’ve included the test results here: The goal is to make a pure THC shatter- then I’m going to eat it and “Trip THC.” We came damn close- making a shatter that reached 82% THC and 7% CBD- for an 89.5% batch. The Shatter- when “dabbed” is the most amazing high I’ve had- like being back in high school again. We have put our 99% experiments on hold while we continue to focus on Cannabis Oil Phoenix Tears batches to cure people and extend lives; which, by the way, we also have a new test of – and not surprisingly – we hit 83% Cannabinoid content! (We usually hit 80% for what I consider to be actual “Phoenix Tears” medicine.) You can see the results below (end of newsletter/update). What was surprising, however, was our 3% CBN rating! It’s the highest CBN we have hit in a batch of the Tears. Ideally, testing could lead to specific oil’s with specific cannabinoids for specific diseases. If the big pharma companies don’t synthesize or illegalize the Cannabinoids, then release their proprietary medicine on their own.  The “Perfect Corporation” is trying to put the brakes on our amateur alchemist testing- so I don’t know how many more tests I’ll be able to bring you all as the laws are changing to protect big companies- but I’ll keep trying, folks…please buy a movie if you can- there are only 40 left of the 100 I made and your support keeps our testing going.

I am blessed to be in Colorado and have access to a team of growers who provide me with the best medicine available on earth. I’m not bragging, I’m just in Colorado! To that end, I came across a Harlequin made Phoenix Tears oil medicine and, wanting to try a true “CBD High”, I took 1.5 grams and put it into capsules and took it – over 1000 mg of CBD and 420 MG of THC – and I must say it was amazing!! It was like taking a high level pain pill but without the “medicine head” the pain pills leave you with. I was functional, happy, getting stuff done, and a little bit high as well, but in a good way. There were no ill effects to taking over 1000 mg of CBD at once, and I must say I would do 1000 mg of CBD every day of my life if I could. It was that good.

To make sure my CBD experiment was valid- the next week I took 1.5 grams of our traditional 80% THC Phoenix Tears medicine – 1000 MG of THC with very little CBD. I was GONE!! Too high!! I could do it again, but it would have to be spread out across the day, not all at once. I felt great the next few days, but I would not repeat my 1000 MG of THC in one dose experiment without using a heavy CBD blend to counteract the severe high I felt, or some citicoline. I basically had a mild THC trip on just the oil – which I’ve done before, but never all at once. It leads me to believe that a more balanced blend of THC/CBD oil could be the miracle panacea we are all searching for- and we are starting to see these blends available in Colorado. My experience was phenomenal on the CBD/THC blend. I was just too high on the THC pill. For curing cancer, though, I wouldn’t mind being a little high. :-)

On a sad note, activist Roland A. Duby – AKA Ronnie Smith – a Cancer Cure activist who helped edit the last Jack Herer’s “Emperor Wears No Clothes” book and treated over 300 people with cannabis oil himself, lost his long battle with leukemia and passed into the next realm in early April. I never met Ronnie personally, but early on in the Vitamin Cannabis story when there was no one supporting us and our claims other than Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette, I received an e-mail from Roland. He offered support, resources, answered questions, and passed on good karma to our team. We picked up a copy of “Emperor Wears No Clothes” and found his name in it – and my whole team was a little relieved that some people in America were aware of what we were doing. It offered us some protection – we felt – that others knew. Besides Christian and Rick, Roland was our only support in the beginning. Ronnie didn’t have to write those e-mails to me during a dark time for us. But he did- and I’m thankful for them to this day. Roland: this 4:20 PM bowls to you…and the positive change you affected in your lifetime. Viva la evolucion, Brother…

Everyone please have a happy, safe, epic, and wonderful 4-20-2014! Take a toke to your freedom – and the freedom others don’t yet share. The battle is over in Colorado & Washington, but the Drug War Soldiers still have work to do – the War is not won. If you are coming to Colorado for the festivities, I’ll see you at the Cannabis Cup. :-) Viva la evolucion, viva la oil!!

So much has happened in the last month, it is ridiculous. Despite all that I will inform you of, there is one thing that hasn’t yet happened. There is still a cancer wing at the children’s hospital where young children with cancer are being given chemotherapy and radiation treatments that cause them to lose their hair – and sometimes their lives. Meanwhile, I would face federal charges were I to approach those children’s parents and offer a potential cancer cure in the form of the phoenix tears medicine I know how to make. So though there is much to be happy about, and the epilepsy CBD cure (a version of the phoenix tears made by people I taught to make the tears years ago) is now on CNN and major news media, I am still not able to treat children with cancer and attempt to extend their lives. Until I can do this – or others do it – I will not consider the mission complete and I will continue to fight the “Perfect Corporation” forces that oppose this.

To the 2,000 epilepsy patients on the Marijuana Refugee waiting list in Colorado: I have tested an ordinary strain of widely available Canadian imported HEMP SEED OIL. And the test results should give people everywhere hope!!  Revealed in test results linked to at the end of the post – THERE IS .01 GRAMS OF CBD IN ORDINARY HEMP SEED OIL AVAILABLE LEGALLY EVERYWHERE! Which means, for epilepsy, Draven’s disease – and other diseases where the traditional THC heavy Cannabis Oil is not applicable – ORDINARY WHOLE FOODS/VITAMIN STORE/NATURAL GROCER PURCHASED HEMP SEED OIL MAY WORK!!! If you take a few ounces a day, of course. Might I suggest one ounce in a smoothie in the morning, and a couple more times throughout the day for a month, until you see results. 100 grams of ordinary Hemp seed oil (slightly less than 4 ounces) contains approximately as much CBD as one gram of the “charlotte’s web” oil. It’s a lot more hemp oil – I know – but if you can’t afford to be a “Marijuana Refugee” and come to a compassionate state to get the CBD strain oil – if you can even get it (there is a huge waiting list but other options do exist) – then please try the hemp oil in the meantime, it can only be positive.

Secondarily, Project CBD blessed the Vitamin Cannabis team with a strain called Lady Harlequin, which I took a year to grow and finally harvested two different samples. One test showed 15% CBD and 6% THC, and one test showed 14% CBD and 5% THC. Both are great results, but here is the CBD SECRET: they are from the same plant. The test with 14% CBD was harvested at 5 weeks, while the test with 15% CBD was harvested at 8 weeks. What this secret reveals is that if you are going for CBD, you can get twice the harvests in as regular 8 week cycle plants! In theory, and we will test this soon, high CBD cannabis strains could be harvested at 4 weeks – or even sooner – to get just the CBD without as much of the THC. Save yourself weeks when growing CBD strains, and keep the same ratio of CBD to THC! The test results for both are posted here. We would love to hear other feedback on this subject, but in the meantime, to growers out there, if you have CBD plants you do not need to wait a full 8 weeks if you are growing for CBD content!

Thirdly on CBD, there is mass confusion between the heavy CBD oil (which is on the Sanjay Gupta CNN specials and other major news media) that may cure epilepsy, Draven’s, and potentially autism, and the heavy THC “Phoenix Tears” medicine that may cure cancer, Alzheimer’s, and a host of other ailments. Add to the confusion the “Cannabis Juicers” movement who ingest thousands of milligrams of raw inactivated cannabis, and we have many different options for people to try to help themselves – all of which seem to work in slightly different ways. I am doing my best to guide folks down the different paths and I would encourage everyone to help others differentiate between the CBD Cannabis Oil and the THC Phoenix Tears oil. They are essentially the same oil, just made with a different variety of the hemp/cannabis plant.

Along those lines, Utah, Florida, and several other states just legalized the use of the CBD Cannabis oil as long as it has less than .03% THC in most cases. There are several ways to get this oil, but if you don’t have an emergency case please try the hempseed oil remedy in large amounts first – though I will say, thousands of parents are moving to Colorado to get access to medicine for their children. So far it is going quite well, as there are many people here who are willing to help. Ultimately, though, I would like to see access to all forms of cannabis oil medicine everywhere – and lets empty out these damn Children’s hospital cancer wards and cure the kids first :-)

In national news, Martha Stewart has a new line of Hemp Yarn available for sale – a sign of the apocalypse for sure… Stephen Colbert calls Colorado “Potsylvania” for our “jazz cigarettes” but ultimately decides to “put his republican morals aside to rake in all the cash” from the taxes on Colorado cannabis. “The market has a spoken and it is a tokin!” he says. It’s a hysterical commentary you can see linked to here: http://thecolbertreport.cc.com/videos/5js43m/colorado-s-booming-marijuana-industry.

Spring Breakers are breaking to Colorado for our legal cannabis. Before I recently quit my job at a recreational dispensary to look for work at a medical one, I saw taxi cab after rental car after taxi cab pulling up to the pot shop with college aged tourists eager to spend money legally on cannabis. They walk out with smiles. It’s awesome to see, but I know my heart lies in the medical aspect of all of this.

Speaking of medical, after 22 years of fighting it, the Feds finally sign off on a university study to gauge the effects of cannabis on PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder for which there are military and civilian versions of, both of which can be helped with Cannabis. I say this having witnessed it first hand when returning Iraq veterans flocked to Colorado to benefit from the medicine available here. I think they will find massive benefits for the disorder from cannabis use, but then again I think they’ll find massive benefits from cannabis use on a lot of disorders, diseases, and ailments.

In other news, there was a pot leaf on the USA Today website and it linked to a story on Cannabis Oil for epilepsy and the marijuana refugees flocking to our state to be treated by the Realm of Caring foundation and other groups. It’s awesome to see so much coverage and even better to see kids being cured. The green is rolling into our state as the pot sales were “higher” than expected – no pun intended. In fact, the tax money is coming in so fast they will have to lower prices or everyone in Colorado may get a tax refund from the state due to our TABOR laws which require the government to give all money not budgeted for back to the citizens. We’ll know more in a few months, but legalization has brought smiles to many faces regardless of whether you voted for it or not…Mexico and Texas may legalize – more signs of the apocalypse…but a friend of Willie Nelson’s is in on it in Texas which is cool! The banks give Cannabis business the “Grow Ahead”, but the cash can’t smell like weed… :-). My former employer bought “Stink Sacks” to put the money in – specially treated bags so the cash won’t smell. Hysterical!

And lastly, I went to a concert in Denver at the Gothic theatre: The Toadies played their “Rubberneck” album. My fiancé (Hemp Girl), a friend Black Beard, and I went to see them perform their song “I Burn.” In Colorado, before 420 meant pot friendly, you would ask someone new “Hey, do you burn?” as a way of asking if they smoked pot. I always answered “I Burn” when asked, and when I heard the Toadies song of the same name, it became an anthem of my twenties. Listening to Bill Hicks comedy and “I Burn” while smoking cannabis, dreaming of legalization, and praying for a day when I could walk into a store and buy weed. That “prayer in every spark” became a reality in January, and though there is much still to be done to make sure all have access to this medicine and all can grow it themselves, I still “burn” and pray for those who are sick and in need. Spark a bowl and pray with me for the revolution that leads to the cancer cure.

We all await patiently Christian Laurette’s and Rick Simpson’s next great feat: “Run from the Cure 2” as 4-20-2014 approaches….it promises to be historic. If you haven’t seen the trailer for it yet please click here: http://youtu.be/Qv8yxuv6e1w.

Viva la evolucion, viva la oil!

Positive thoughts everyone’s way :-)

Ken Gorman’s Murder 7th Anniversary

Folks, today is the 7th year since marijuana activist Ken Gorman was murdered in his home in Denver. Please smoke a bowl to celebrate Ken’s life even if you didn’t know him personally.

I worked closely with Ken on several projects, including his “It’s a Cannabis Christmas” comedy CD which he produced and attended many 420 rallies with him where he threw out joints. He had a fire about him – one time I was with him at fast food burger joint Wendy’s when Ken told the youth group teenagers in front of us their burgers would taste better after a joint, and that cannabis was in the bible. They laughed and smiled but only said they were with their church right now. Later while Ken and I were eating, a Holy Bible slammed down on the table, disrupting my fries. A pissed off youth group leader had heard the comment about cannabis in the bible and demanded Ken “Show Me Where.” Ken calmly opened the first page to Genesis, read the verse about “Seed bearing plants” and asked the gentleman, “Now then, does the cannabis plant have seeds?” I would have laughed out loud had I not feared the Christian would have gone devil on us in a rage, but he didn’t. He said a few more words about not appreciating Ken talking about drugs to his youth group and walked away – maybe with a new respect for the plant. That’s just the kind of guy Ken was – he was a riot to be around, always causing “trouble” but he genuinely cared for the people in his life, and those he just met that he could help.

Ken always told his close friends he would be killed in a “drug deal gone bad” and the police would never solve it, but it would lead to marijuana being legalized world-wide. I never believed him, until 7 years ago he was murdered – shot in the chest – in a “drug deal gone bad.” At the ensuing 420 rally after his death, the formation of the movement that would legalize marijuana in Colorado was founded; set in stone and ready to mobilize. What we accomplished together has made history here, and now we are seeing pot laws changing the world over. All because of a movement that was made so strong by one event. One man’s death – his sacrifice – made all of us here realize just how important it was that cannabis laws be changed and now, no more waiting and BS’ing around. The simple fact is big money came in at the last second to help Colorado legalize. The groundswell was growing already, through grassroots efforts led by brave men, brave truth tellers, like Ken Gorman.

Ken exemplifies George Carlin’s quote, “In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” Gorman was a revolutionary act his whole life. He told the truth, even to those that weren’t willing to listen yet. Now they hear the 420 music, Ken :-)

Miguel Lopez, the bearer of the torch for the Mile High City’s 420 rally, wrote and released a nice press piece about Ken. I have included it for you to read here. Please take a toke to Governor Pothead, the KG1, Ken Gorman. Rest in Peace, my friend, knowing the people you taught the game saw victory in your state first. Viva~ Capn Cannabis Feb 17th 2014

The following is the press release from Miguel Lopez:

FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

Ken Gorman murdered seven years ago today. Legacy lives on while murder remains unsolved.

February 17, 2014 – Denver, CO – Seven years ago today, gunmen in masks walked into renowned marijuana activist Ken Gorman’s home and shot him in the chest. The murderers left cash and marijuana behind, and Ken’s death left behind grieving marijuana activists. His murder remains unsolved.

Ken’s lasting legacy is one that touched members of the marijuana community of all walks, but primarily the poor and disadvantaged. His charisma attracted a large following and he had an almost cult like following of young urban adults of whom many were homeless or poor. He taught of the injustices of marijuana prohibition and how it impacted minority and poorer communities the most. In 1993 he started the Denver 420 Rally at Civic Center Park, which through time gathered hundreds of attendees.

Many people in the marijuana scene today never knew Ken. Acting as though they were the ones to bring about the drug policy reform Ken launched in Colorado, they forget that there were people who literally made the ultimate sacrifice for them to be able to capitalize on the growing marijuana industry. It is the explicit desire of the Denver 420 Rally to remind the marijuana community of the history of one of its founders. The Denver 420 Rally also strives to keep his memory alive and see his murderers brought to justice.

Tragically, the fact that Ken’s murder has never been solved highlights an issue that is largely ignored by the general public, and that is the reality that law enforcement rarely serves justice for the poor.

The Denver 420 Rally experienced this recently with last year’s shooting. The Denver Police and Denver City Council want to nag the organizers of the rally about security, yet even with cameras and witnesses, they still haven’t found the shooter. Federal agents nabbed the Boston bomber and he wasn’t even at the scene! This goes to show the level of priority being given to two different communities. To add insult to injury, cops this year plan to write citations in spite of the $11,000 that the Denver 420 Rally paid for the permit. They don’t write citations for The Taste of Denver, which also draws a wealthier crowd.

This year will be the Denver 420 Rally’s biggest event yet. Historically a rally, the Denver 420 Rally is evolving into a festival. Yet, that does not mean that the organization will stop being a political organization and promoting human and civil rights. There have been a lot of positive changes in drug policy reform, but until everyone is free and marijuana is decriminalized, the Denver 420 Rally will still be championing for social justice.

We hope to see you there and in the famous words of the late Ken Gorman, “Keep on smoking them joints!”

February Newsletter 2014

Folks, I wouldn’t be writing this e-mail to you if it wasn’t for Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette and the bravery they demonstrated in re-releasing an illegal cancer cure contained within a harmless plant. I have said many times they deserve a Nobel Prize for what they have done; they freakin’ deserve it. Lately, medical science has been backing up Rick’s claims to the utmost extent. I have big news in this newsletter, starting with filmmaker Christian Laurette’s “Run from the Cure 2″ movie trailer.

When RFTC came out originally, it changed the world, and my life personally. It allowed me to save family members, and random strangers, and confirm what Rick said to be outright true in every fashion. To have been a part of this epic journey where I was accidentally part of a legitimate, working, now medically proven cancer cure, can only be described as an act of God. I did not set out to do that, I set out to legalize marijuana. It just so happened the two were intertwined. I have always been a religious and spiritual person, to have witnessed with mine own eyes such miracles, such struggle overcome, and such joy, brings tears to my eyes. I am “Rich at Heart” my friends, and you can be too. Make some oil and cure someone – you will feel what I feel… :-)

Please watch the trailer for Christian Laurette’s second film about Rick Simpson here: http://youtu.be/Qv8yxuv6e1w.

Spread it to those who need to know that cannabis cures disease. And by those who need to know, I mean everyone! The film trailer is a work of art in its own right. The film itself is setting up to be a historic document telling how the cannabis oil cure was released from its cage. Please share it, share your comments, and add your verse to the poem that is this rising story. Rising like the phoenix, from the ashes of prohibition. I rate the trailer “Top Shelf” and am honored to have been a part.

In addition to that, special thanks to Justin Kander of Phoenixtears.ca for the links to THE FIRST OFFICIAL CLINICAL TRIAL OF HEMP OIL on cancer – a leukemia patient- who did have the cancer eliminated- but died from other causes.  You can see her test results over a 72 day period here: http://karger.com/Article/FullText/356446

About the rapidly advancing medical research into Cannabis oil, I am thankful for it to finally be happening. There were some holdouts who just wouldn’t believe until medical science started confirming it in clinical trials; well, here ya go! This trial, and others, have led a group in San Francisco to call for immediate clinical trials to begin in the U.S. This comes as President Obama says he will not reschedule marijuana through executive order, but he would sign a bill doing so if congress passed it and it came across his desk. It sets up a plan for certain representatives in un-pot friendly districts to still vote “no” on cannabis “legalization” to save face, while a bunch of others vote “Yes” and send a legalization bill across Obama’s desk, which he will sign – then roll up a fatty! Then it will be up to the states to decide what to do about pot… and I already know how my state feels :-)

And did I mention Hemp has already been legalized (for universities and state agricultural depts.) in the U.S.? Snuck into the farm bill just signed? Well it is, folks. Hemp is legal in my home state of Colorado for ordinary citizens, and the rest of the U.S.A. in at least some form (view article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-/obama-marijuana-legalization_b_4768009.html). Can you believe it? I know somewhere Harry Anslinger is rolling over in his grave. About fucking time – pardon my French. But About FUCKING TIME!! And soon marijuana will be re-scheduled. In time for 4-20-2014, I hope :-)

Wow, what a sequence of events so quickly :-) :-) :-) Trinity of smiles, folks…

In other news, it is entirely possible the Colorado marijuana market could generate – get this – one billion dollars the first year, with over $287 million of that being tax money going to the state. Right now the estimate is $500 million, but another several dozen shops are set to open in the next few weeks.  I talked with our lead grower and he said we produced 700 pounds of pot last year. At $5,000 a pound retail, that’s over $235 million dollars retail – just from one facility. Our company has double digit figures of facilities, and there are lots of companies like ours, in addition to actual dispensaries (I work for a wholesale cannabis grow company, stationed at a dispensary – the best of both worlds), and edibles manufacturers grows. Total, by my math, there are over 400 facilities in the state who will earn $3.5 million, and that puts us at the Billion Dollar figure. $375 million is the most conservative estimate, $500 million more realistic, but a Billion is certainly possible, especially if tourists flock to the state in the summer, which is already a given. A lot of people planning “Hiking” trips here this year…

$1 Billion, and $287 million in tax revenue – and that is not including at all the other money the state is raking in from tourism, taxes on burritos/scissors/ electricity taxes. It’s all adding up to a great economy in our state. How is yours doing in your non-legal state? The town of Carbondale on the Western Slope of Colorado is seeing so many people this winter due to their one open recreational dispensary that the grocery store, gas station, and other retailers are reporting sales numbers as if it was the peak of summer tourist season – and it’s a freezing winter while they are making this money. See the article here: http://mmjbusinessdaily.com/rec-shop-lifts-businesses-in-colorado-mountain-town/.

It’s all 50 year olds and over – a growing group of cannabis enthusiasts – most seeking relief from pain and a desire to get off multiple medications with nasty side effects. Might I just say, welcome! Bring us your broken, your tired, your sick and your poor! There are those here in Colorado who can help you heal!

There is a great article on CBD you can read by following this link: http://learnaboutsam.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/CBD-brochure5.pdf.

It explains some of what the hype is, and why there is so much of it. Articles have come out recently, a 22 year old with autism has “had his light turned back on” by a CBD version of Phoenix Tears Cannabis Oil. Another 3 year old was able to clap for the first time and is experiencing similar “coming out” of the human spirit from the depths of disease. It is a blessing to the mothers of these children – I can’t help but cry a little just writing this. The genuine relief they are experiencing, seeing their children healing – as I watch on the news – is a blessing. Thank you, Lord, for Cannabis, Christian, and Rick Simpson. Children are being healed…

In related news, Josh Stanley’s Realm of Caring CBD oil non-profit has expanded, and now has a northern Colorado office to handle the patients, which now number 300 on a waiting list. The Stanley family has started “Strains of Hope” which will provide Charlotte’s Web high CBD medicine to other states and shops to begin healing children in other parts of the country, and the world – as they have an international waiting list. Families that can are moving to Colorado – 1,000 already, and more each month. The flood of marijuana refugees seeking cannabis oil in our state continues to grow. Other groups have stepped up to meet the challenge and help provide the needed CBD oil for all these children. The sense of community is strong here – we all get along – to move forward, put prohibition in the past, and put healing on the agenda.

On a few final notes, I had the honor of installing Radio Frequency Identification Tags on all the cannabis plants at our grow the other day – one of the first in history. I fought against these “seed to sale” regulations, but now I help implement them. How ironic! But I’m happy, and it’s the best paying job I’ve ever had, including managing a $1 Million a year pizza shop (which I just was able to leave). I joke at work that I would follow whatever regulations they throw at us, even if they said we had to wear hula hoops while harvesting. It became a joke: the Hula Hoop Regulation, you better follow it, $1000 fine if you don’t. It’s a joke, but we mean it. We would wear hula hoops just to grow cannabis and heal people – if that’s what it took. :-)

Speaking of Hula Hoops, after window smashing raids a couple months ago, all but 3 of the DEA raided pot shops are back open and still awaiting any charges – which probably aren’t coming. The feds and state (and IRS) flexed their muscle – the shops with $1 Million dollar grows claiming $300 a day in sales while other similar shops sold $3000 are gone – now they claim what they sell, and pay the taxes on it. That’s what it was all about: taxes. Compliant shops will be fine as they have been. The boys raided better play nice to the state, but they are back open and that’s a good thing.

A new term is circling through the industry “Trimmigrant” – a term for both a cannabis industry employee who transfers over from trimming to budtending or another cannabis job (very common 4 everyone to start as a trimmer), and also a person who moves here from another state to take a job in the cannabis industry. It’s cool to see so many cool people linking together in one state for one purpose. I’m not a trimmigrant yet – I’m still enjoying my time exposed to so much cannabis as just a trimmer – but one day I hope to make Vitamin Cannabis pills legally in a lab.

In the meantime, I’m writing an epic book about the story I’ve witnessed, the people I’ve met, the cannabis oil I’ve made and consumed, and the crazy life in pre- and post-legalization I’ve lived. I’ll leave that legacy to my Cannakids; Kyle Jr’s now 3 years old, and Serafina Faith turns 2 next month. It feels like only yesterday Kyle Jr was a newborn, I was fearing federal charges, and pot was illegal. Now they will grow up in a world where marijuana is sold in stores, Dad’s not a criminal anymore, and the cure for cancer can grow in our backyard… How happy I am for that! :-)

One more thank you to Rick Simpson, Christian Laurette, & Justin Kander for their contributions to this newsletter, and my life in general. I wish you all the best life has to offer. To everyone who has been a part of the Vitamin Cannabis story, I wish you the same. J

To those that read this far, I love you – I truly do. Positive thoughts and energy your way!

URGENT UPDATE- LINES STILL OUT THE DOOR IN COLORADO!

I had to take the time to wish you all a happy new year! And, of course, update you on the ongoing revolutionary activities taking place in Colorado right now. It is urgent because if you are seeing what I’m seeing (lines still around the block TODAY for pot), you know that other cash strapped states and cities are seeing this, and it looks like the Federal Government of the United States will be rescheduling the cannabis plant soon as cities and states have begun ignoring the federal law and begun trying to pass and passing cannabis legality laws already (GO NEW YORK!). But let me tell you a little about how it went down… :-)

Folks, people from all over the world – literally, and all over the US – waited in line in the snow and freezing cold at 8 am to become the first few thousand people in the world to legally buy marijuana. Some camped out, but the very first was an Iraq war vet who purchased marijuana to help with his PTSD, as cameras rolled. It was “High fives All Around” as the local paper put it, as over a MILLION dollars in pot sales rolled out of just under 20 total shops open January 1st. The rush was so intense shops began limiting purchases almost immediately as it was realized Colorado could be out of its recreational stock sooner than expected- though emergency measures by the state should prevent that from happening (i.e., actually licensing the rest of the 150 shops to open). It was beautiful to see people lined up around the block at most of the locations, and the best part is, it all went off without a hitch, a complaint, or a problem. Thousands of tax dollars were raised (over $287,000 in taxes, to be exact) and people were happy all over; and by the end of the week, over $5 million in confirmed sales were made. The rest of the country and world saw how peacefully a legal pot market can operate.

However, it’s not really about the numbers! We all expected a good first couple days for legal weed in Colorado, but here is the thing: the lines are still out there as more and more people are coming out to buy legal weed. They come and buy and wait in line immediately to buy more (totally legal). It’s been ridiculous, incredible, and amazing to watch. Even Nancy Grace calling pot smokers “fat, lazy, and a danger to society” (WHAT?!) can’t bring us down. The city and state are happy with the money, the cops are happy with the money and peacefulness of the crowd, and – most importantly – patients who didn’t want to be on the medical list, and ordinary citizens of the world they are happy, too.  They now have access to this sacred herb medicine from God.

I was blessed to work with the late great Colorado Marijuana Activist Ken Gorman when he was throwing the 420 rallies on the steps of the capital building (after being chased out of the park) and other rallies in Denver to promote pot’s legality. There were days when only 50 people would show up, and one time, only 20. We thought 12 were cops and undercovers, so we felt outnumbered! It never fazed Ken. He said, “I won’t be here to see it, but one day it will be legal, right here, and the people will show up then.” That was the kind of guy Ken was, always preaching to his friends. Sometimes prophesizing about his own death by “unknown shooter” in a “drug deal gone bad”. He said it would all lead to pot being legal here in Colorado first. I never truly believed him, until I started to see it happening.

First, Ken was murdered in his house in 2007, in a “drug deal gone bad” and the “unknown shooter” still has not been found. At the following 4-20 rally, unpermitted by the city, but an informal memorial for Ken led by his daughter Val, the 420 Colorado movement to legalize weed was born. Thousands gathered to honor Ken by showing civil disobedience to the state and smoking weed together at a single moment, 4:20 pm on 4-20-2007, as Ken had been doing for years. The faces at that rally, and the following year, led the way to Colorado’s cannabis future that I see today – and it’s beautiful!

If you look at my youtube.com/capncannabis account, you see a video history of Colorado’s victorious marijuana movement. From my videos at that rally in 2007, you see all the people that now I’ve watched being interviewed on CNN, and national news, as our “movement” became a “force to be reckoned with”. It was a small movement of a group of dedicated people, but it all started with Ken Gorman, and his life and death. Watching more of my videos you see comedy shorts, more activist videos, and then suddenly I stumble across a working cancer cure through Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette, and the Vitamin Cannabis team is born. Many of us feel the Cannabis as a Cancer cure story, and the minds it changed immediately when people who were against cannabis suddenly had a sick family member whose only option was the herb, was the extra 10 to 20% we needed in both the polls and the actual vote to legalize cannabis once and for all. We may never know if that is true, but I know it played a part, in the overall story of courage, that we all showed in winning this war against our plant.

We will honor Ken Gorman this 4-20-2014 once again – in the same park he used to toss out joints to the crowd in. Ken’s daughter Val has said, “If paper cups were illegal, Ken would have fought for paper cups.” It just happened to be cannabis that Ken was fighting for. The activists he trained, including myself (I released Ken’s “It’s A Cannabis Christmas” CD and worked closely with him for 2 years), have finished the job, and in the way that Ken predicted prior to his death. We will celebrate victory day for cannabis this 4-20, and those of us in the know, will also celebrate the life and death of Governor Pothead, the KG1, Ken Gorman.

I’ll still be releasing my book “Vitamin Cannabis: Or, How I learned to love the Cure and fear the Perfect Corporation” sometime in 2014, and it will tell the whole story I have been blessed to witness from beginning to end. Prohibition of marijuana started and ended in Colorado – and for the 50 or so of you who I dearly love who actually read this newsletter (I do love you!) take three special tokes tonight if you partake….

1.      For Ken Gorman, who started this all.

2.      For the end of prohibition, and victory.

3.      For God, who is watching all this and laughing at how ridiculous it was that we would try to eliminate his/her most potent plant!! They tried Lord, and after 70 years of still trying, they finally gave up.  :-)

There is of course more to come, but the events of this past week have inspired a “high fever induced” spoken word piece, as I’ve been ill, but home, and able to watch my activist friends on national news channels. Pot’s never received so much coverage – and 99% of it is positive. I also just saw “Dr. Feelgood” Sanjay Gupta’s report on Landon, a child in Colorado with ALS who is using Cannabis Oil to keep his cancer away- it was an amazing report. He called again for rescheduling cannabis, and scientists are now coming forward with solid evidence cannabinoids kill cancer cells. Federal legality is imminent. Cannabis curing cancer was on CNN tonight…Wow.

To top it all off, the public school kids in CA who were exposed to meningitis will get the illegally imported vaccine from Europe, just like the kids at the Ivy league school with the same outbreak. It’s good to see things working out so well. J  Positive thoughts and good vibrations to all of you – may the “new energies” in “your town” watch over you in the coming year. Do your best to deserve the love you receive. Keep the light, my friends, and never doubt “that a small group of dedicated people, can change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has…”

“From Where I Stand Today”

From where I stand today,

hundreds of people stand in line for legal cannabis.

From where I stand today,

medicine is dispersed in stores,

instead of on shady streets.

From where I stand today,

once vacant factories and churches,

now house growing cannabis plants.

Employing people,

Empowering people

and for the people.

From where I stand today,

customers who just paid 33% in taxes on a $35 1/8 of weed,

yell “I’ve never been so happy to pay a tax in my life.”

From where I stand today,

I see need stricken schools ready to accept

the $40 million in pot taxes they will receive.

$287,000 the 1st day.

From where I stand today,

I see other states watching the long lines,

and changing their own laws,

to benefit from the once hidden pot market,

now been revealed.

From where I stand today,

the great illusion is over,

prohibition is dead in Colorado.

And the clock’s in its final ticks for the US,

then the world.

From where I stand today,

as a pot activist fighting

 for the cause now won,

I see

only

 joy.

:-)

God bless Colorado

Holiday Greetings to everyone who is jolly this day of remembrance of our creator, and also what is holy and good in this world. May you raise a toast to the blessings of our lives, and hug those close to you. Tell your mom and dad you love them, tell your friends you are grateful for them in your life, and remind yourself this life is just a ride, love is eternal, and you can be happy with how you are right now. Commemorate the love and joy we experience as you create new love and joy. Forget the sorrow, let the water flow under the bridge, and move forward with confidence into the New Year. This journey gets more epic everyday – and I’m thankful for you all riding along with me. Merry Cannabis Christmas 2013 :-)

Now to get down to business…

We are excited to announce that as a direct result of the Realm of Caring Foundation in Colorado Springs, and their CBD “Charlotte’s Web” strain, 11,000 children with Dravet Syndrome (a form of epilepsy) will receive a GW Pharmaceutical copy of the Stanley’s CBD Cannabis Oil, in a large scale attempt to cure the disease using cannabis once and for all. The FDA has approved the treatment of 5,000 kids in the U.S., and another 6,000 will be treated across the EU. I would like to congratulate everyone involved, this is a Christmas miracle for many families afflicted with a child suffering from the multiple seizures a day disease. The Realm of Caring foundation went from caring for a few kids, to 30, to 90, to a waiting list in a short time frame. This caused massive parent demand across the U.S., who demanded action both from their doctors and legislators. The parents threatened to move to Colorado, and many families, tired of waiting, have made the move here for the medicine. Now others will not have to wait; come January 2014. It’s a Christmas blessing that so many kids will have an option presented to them in the New Year.

When I made Vitamin Cannabis Part 2 “Save the Children”, it was intended to speed up the rate at which cannabis medicines could be administered to children. Once I realized the panacea the Oil is, I had time to think about who deserved to take the medicine first. I came to the easy conclusion it is the children who have exhausted all other options who deserve to have this medicine first.  It brings tears to my eyes to know that soon it will happen. First this, and soon, kids with cancer will be cured. Rick and Christian: know you are responsible for these 11,000 kids who may be cured as much as anyone. The info you put out about the Phoenix Tears will “officially” benefit kids through the allopathic system, and though that part may be bittersweet, we are all blessed to have been a part of it. Merry Cannabis Oil Christmas, guys :-)!

Conveniently, at the same time an official CBD medicine is released through the allopathic system, the FDA & DEA have announced via memo that CBD is illegal to sell across state lines. They claim it has been illegal all along, with cannabidiol classified as part of the cannabis plant, which is a schedule 1 drug. Why they have been allowing CBD sales online through various sources is a mystery, but rumor has it official letters will go out and CBD may be banned entirely except for at medical marijuana centers. If the DEA reschedules soon, though, perhaps in time with the financial decision to “Yellow Light” the banking industry to handle cannabusiness accounts, we may see CBD without THC available, but for now – get it while you can.

There is an article listing the 13 reasons Cannabis had its best year ever, and no surprise the Stanley’s “Charlotte’s Web” story takes #1. Also on the list: legality in the states of Colorado and Washington, as well as worldwide in Uruguay. It’s a list worth checking out – and hinted as to what’s to come in 2014. A study on THC killing Leukemia Cells is highlighted. Cannabis oil medicine as a cancer cure is next, folks…but of course you already know that! Check out the article here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/20/marijuana-2013_n_4467485.html

In Local news, the Denver City council did a 180 reversal on its policy on smoking pot on private property in the city and, instead of banning it, totally allowed it. No more worries about your neighbor snitching on you for taking a toke in the backyard. However, the same council did ban growing 12 plants or more in any one residential location. This ruins college dorm plans to group all the plants together in the basement for a massive grow –which would be legal, though ill advised. It’s still unfortunate the 12 plant limit. At least the city did appoint a new Chief of Marijuana Policy as a paid city of Denver governmental position. A few years ago they were jerks about pot, increasing citations despite a law making it lowest law enforcement priority. Now that they’ve seen the money, they can’t rush in quick enough to take their share…

Can you say “GREEN RUSH!” It’s on in Denver as 5 to 12 recreational pot shops will be open January 1st to tourists and non-medical patients in Colorado. 200 more will open in the following months. It’s a historical day for our state and the nation, as the first fully regulated state sanctioned system for recreational pot sales goes into effect. Numbers for sales in both Colorado and Washington for pot sales were DOUBLE what was expected last year- and the CO MED office turned away 245 people seeking a pot job badge to work in the industry in one day. 3,000 to 5,000 jobs would be created monthly if they had enough clerks to handle all the applications each day. Instead they process 10 to 30 a day, and badge 300 to 1000 people each month. I was lucky to get in early and get my badge in two days. I’ve had friends go eleven times. It’s just the perfect corporation trying to buy Colorado a little time, before the rest of the states wake up and realize just how much of an economy saver marijuana can be…

I watched “Vice”; it’s a documentary on Cannabis Oil that featured a little girl in Oregon battling cancer, assisted by cannabis oil in bubble gum flavored capsules. Capsuline company makes the flavored capsules, and has partnered with the Phoenix Tears Foundation to distribute some pill cases to those in need. I recommend strongly watching the VICE video to see an amazing story by clicking here: http://www.vice.com/weediquette-show/stoned-kids

On a quick non-cannabis note – thousands of students with potential exposure to Meningitis who received an illegally imported vaccine at a major Ivy League university, are proven to be worth more than public school students. The exact same virus outbreak at a California Public school does not warrant an illegal vaccine importation. I guess everyone has “Affluenza” but it’s heartbreaking to see what is done for some that is not done for others. I’m told that’s the way it’s always been, but I choose to radiate love to all, regardless of income level or social status. I think that’s the way it should be.

One last final disturbing but hopeful note that probably should have been near the top of this letter: the DEA has rescheduled Cannabis extracts into the Drug Schedule. This includes Cannabis Oil, wax, shatter, and all other concentrates of the cannabinoids in the plant. I say this is a hopeful move because it sets the stage for the government to lower the Cannabis plants schedule, but keep the extracts (i.e. the cancer cure) illegal to produce. This would give them a monopoly on the real medicine from the plant by allowing the FEDS to still bust anyone making cannabis concentrates. The states could decide their own laws on the plant itself without interfering with extracts which would remain illegal. It’s an odd situation, but we should see rescheduling of the Cannabis plant in the first 4 months of 2014. That would give a lot of people all over the ability to grow it – and that is a good thing, something to be hopeful for – as we approach the New Year.

And speaking of 2014, I wish you all the best and safest times this holiday season… Merry Cannabis Christmas to you all, and remember you are all loved. I thank you for your dedication to the cause; only the true believers read this far.

Thanks :-),

Vitamin Cannabis November Newsletter 2013

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We have much to be thankful for in the Mile High City. My beautiful family first and foremost :-)

I had the pleasure of seeing for the first time in my life a line of people gathered outside the dispensary I work for on Black Friday. They were in line for a free pack of joints and great “Green Friday” deals on marijuana sacks. I bought some Ganja in honor of an Epic Black Friday gone green in Colorado! We hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! :-)

There is much to get to, but we will start with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper adding into the state’s budget for 2014, $7 Million dollars to fund 10 to 14 Cannabis research grants. This coincides with a mammoth spike in the number of Marijuana refugees flocking to the state to treat rare forms of epilepsy, cancer, and other diseases. The stories have made the rounds across all the local media channels, and it seems highly unlikely the state would set aside funding for cannabis research without a change in federal classification, but we shall see. Could the state be brazenly defying the DEA and FDA and approve cannabis research? Or will we see reclassification at the federal level before the measure goes into the state budget? I’ll be watching either way, and it is MAJOR NEWS if it is approved!

Also in Colorado, the city council of Denver backed off Draconian measures to regulate cannabis use in private homes and on private property in Denver, settling instead for a loose law stating you can’t be seen smoking in your house or yard from the street. The Denver Police chief then said if the cops get a call about a public smoker, they will ask the smoker to step inside before issuing a ticket. It’s better than the original ordinance, and we are making progress every day. The city also voted in an additional marijuana tax, as did the state, so recreational cannabis sales will be taxed at a very high 30% rate come January first, which will increase the price for rec cannabis users.

A Colorado Mother whose child used the Phoenix Tears Cannabis Oil medicine to success, then was being forced by doctors to have the kid undergo chemotherapy anyways, has won her battle against the doctors. The Colorado Department of Child Services, which was called by the doctor after the child’s mom refused chemo, declined to investigate the mother further, and the child is no longer required to do the toxic chemotherapy for a now non-existent cancer. It is another victory in Colorado, as finally parents are being able to make the decisions as to what is best for their child.

Speaking of – but stepping out of state for a moment – an Arizona family is suing their department of health in advance of marijuana concentrates potentially being banned, which is exactly what their sick child needs. They declare the cannabis CBD oil is keeping their kid well, and are suing pre-emptively to ensure a disruption of medicine does not occur. It is awesome to see hundreds of people now realizing the benefit of the cannabis oil, and also taking action against forces that would keep them from using this blessed, god given plant medicine. It’s inspiring and encouraging… :-)

Back in Colorado, the Industrial Hemp regulations have been set, and – get this – it’s a $200 fee and $1 per acre to grow as much hemp as you can on the acres you own. Come to Colorado and grow some hemp, everybody! I know I’m making plans to someday soon. We’ll see if Hemp lives up to all it has been said to and I’m expecting to find it gets the job done better, cleaner, and tougher than other materials it’s up against. Time will tell, but for $200 and a few seeds, you can help us find out right here in Colorado. :-)

Additionally, with more jobs to come from Industrial Hemp, it’s nice to know the Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division has officially “badged” over 10,000 people to work in Colorado’s medical marijuana industry. That’s a lot of new jobs, and it would be 3 times that many if they simply accepted more people into their office to get the badge. (They only take 10 a day, while 60 get stamps proving they’ve been there, it sometimes takes 10 stamps before getting to turn in your app to get a badge!) Still it is very exciting that so many opportunities have been created by cannabis, and as a worker in the industry, it’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had, and literally a dream come true.

There is also major news out of Big Pharma – as GW Pharmaceuticals is running a human test of THC Oil (the phoenix tears) on Brain Cancer patients to see if it reduces tumors. It should work as the oil is one of few things that can cross the blood/brain barrier, and it may pave the way for more THC medicines to quickly become tested and available to the public. I’ll remind everyone they can make the same medicine themselves thanks to Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette, but it’s nice to see eventually you should be able to get the oil pre-dosed from your local pharmacist, for all sorts of ailments. I’ll still make it myself, though :-). You can view the related article here.

For your furry friends, an MIT Based entrepreneur – yes that MIT Ivy league school – and a couple veterinarians have released a CBD pill for dogs and cats called Canna-pet. It has very little CBD, but it might work, and it won’t give the dog the wobbly legs the THC can sometimes do. Further testing may reveal more to it, but for now you can legally get your kitty or puppy CBD cannabis pills, shippable all over the world because they don’t contain THC. They also are supposedly made from USA grown hemp, not the Chinese hemp scrap waster paste that other CBD suppliers use. It sounds good, but some regular hemp seed oil from the natural grocer has almost the CBD content in a couple table spoons- so fido or fluffy may enjoy a spoon of that every day, too.

In Vitamin Cannabis Oil related news, we have been experimenting with the supplement Citicoline to counteract the high the oil gives the user. So far it reduces the high feeling and durations, and limits the user’s ability to feel high in the first place. The sleep effects are still there. We are now looking into curative effects as we progress, but if you need to be on the oil and still functional, the citicoline is effective at reducing the “high.” Ideally, though, I do not recommend this method and would much rather you get “high” and then get restorative sleep, than risk you blocking the curing effects of the THC. Time will tell, though.

In International News, Dr. FeelGood is at it again. Dr. Sanjay Gupta (No relation to the marijuana strain named Sanjay Gupta) is back with another film coming out in March 2014, this time a British Documentary on a loophole that lets certain patients import cannabis from Amsterdam. It may feature other stories from that side of the world involving marijuana, and with all he has already done, people will be watching what he does next…

Lastly, there were 17 raids by IRS & DEA agents at Colorado dispensaries this past week – the first in a long time. Even with legality, we are not out of the woods yet. However, many of the places targeted had legitimate reasons to be targeted, like having a million dollars of plants growing in a warehouse but only claiming $100 a day in sales to be taxed on. Other shops had outright drug cartel ties through people who should not be in this industry, or ties to jewel heist thugs. The shop I work at – with its intricate tracking system and safeguards, background checked employees and owners, and which pays its taxes and makes the state money – was not raided. The raids are actually a sign that certain aspects of Colorado’s system are working, and working well.

I am never a fan of raids, and cannabis plants left in a parking lot to be snowed on is a shame, but if these guys were really the bad guys the feds and state say they were, then they got what was coming to them. Honestly, it seems like it came down to taxes. The dispensaries paying their fair share were left alone. I’m glad to pay taxes on cannabis – and the first $40 million of it goes to kids in Colorado schools. The system works, is working, and is growing rapidly!

This November 2013, after Thanksgiving and Black Friday are finally over, I’m smoking a bowl of my Green Friday weed and saying a prayer of thanks. I’m thankful for my family, for my friends, for Colorado, and for Cannabis. Won’t you say that prayer with me? :-) Viva la evolucion, viva la oil!!

November 29th “Green Friday” 2013

Happy October, everyone! I hope you are ready for all hallows eve. There are lots of tricks and treats happening in Colorado’s Cannabis community right now, and now for the Treats….

Hemp Girl and I were excited to meet filmmaker Christian Laurette of “Run from the Cure” fame, who was in Denver interviewing Colorado’s Cannabis Oil makers for “Run from the Cure 2″. He is an incredibly nice and dedicated individual and I can see why his first film has the millions of views it does. His spirit is strong and it was a pleasure to shake the hand of the man who I feel has earned a part of the Nobel Prize Rick Simpson deserves for bringing the Cannabis oil panacea back to the ordinary man’s world. The whole Vitamin Cannabis team is looking forward to Christian’s next project, and we will keep you updated as we know more…

More Treats…Colorado is basing tax revenue estimates on selling 2 million ounces of marijuana next year through the legal shops, and this is just medical. That will generate $71 million dollars in taxes for the state on a $400 million dollar industry its first year. We are talking millions of dollars in revenue for cities and states that need a boost. Could cities like Detroit be next to legalize? If a new Gallup Poll showing 58% in favor of marijuana’s legality is an indication, the Federal Government should act soon to reschedule to save some of our dying commercial and industrial cities. There’s a new industry in America: Cannabizness.

Colorado’s Pot Cops, the Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division, are opening a full time office to handle employee applications for cannabusiness industries. They are currently processing 10 a day, hopefully they will handle all who show up each day (sometimes 60), and we will have in the first month one thousand new jobs created by cannabis in Colorado. If they really do process everyone applying each day, we could see months in the near future when the number of Cannabis jobs created is in the multiples of thousands each month, and will far surpass the growth of any other industry sector. Exciting times. And keep in mind, I work in the industry, am “badged” by the pot cops, and am watching all this happen with a smile on my face. :-)

And now the “Tricks”…

The Denver city council is considering Orwellian city regulations that would make it a crime to smoke pot in your backyard if your neighbor can smell it, or in your front room if a cop can see you through the window, or carry a bag of weed in your pocket through a city park. The infractions would carry $999 fines or a year in Denver jail. Even our major newspaper called for the new proposed regulations to be shelved. I can’t imagine they will pass these ridiculous laws, but clearly, in the dying days of prohibition, some people still think pot is a bad thing, and pot smokers are criminals, even in our backyards or front windows.

More Tricks…Colorado and other states are running “Drug Checkpoints” on highways and if you see signs for a drug checkpoint while driving on the freeway: KEEP DRIVING! Act normal and stay on the highway. If you exit at the next stop or dump your stash, the cops are watching from the side of the road, and stationed with drug sniffing dogs at the next exit, to catch you! It is ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL for them to do a checkpoint on the actual highway, so they are using this method to trick people into being searched. By acting suspicious, or pulling off the highway, you give them probable cause for a search. If you keep driving down the highway, you can spark a bowl, knowing the truth, and avoiding this nasty devil’s trick.

Colorado officers netted a 92 pound bust using this method last week of marijuana. Sadly, they will not use the pot to cure anyone, or empty out the children’s cancer wards using cannabis oil, they will probably incinerate it. We have moved ten steps forward in Colorado and Washington, but when this much medicine is denied to the people, we still have a major problem on our hands.

Tricks on them, though, pot is here to stay now; in flower form, in hashish form, and in my favorite hidden treat for just the adults around this Reformation Day, some Cannabis infused candy corns!!  We are blessed here in Colorado – come out to the wild wild west if you dare… :-)

Through Tricks and Treats- we persevere… :-) :-) :-)

Happy Halloween 2013!

Capn Cannabis from the Mile High Legal City of Denver, Colorado

P.S. ONE MORE TREAT for Halloween!!!- Justin Kander of Phoenix Tears.ca has put together an awe inspiring compilation of the Cannabis Oil & Extract movement so far. It is an epic read, and the most exciting part is we all get to help finish the story – when the oil is available to all! Please see the following links if you would like to view the most inclusive history of the Rick Simpson “Phoenix Tears” Movement so far:

There is both happy and sad news to report in this month’s newsletter – first, the Cannabis community in Colorado lost a kindred spirit in Jenny Kush, whose life was taken by a drunk driver. She was active in the medical marijuana community, and leaves behind four children. Her car was smashed into head on by a drunk driver on a suspended license for a previous DUI, heading the wrong way on a highway HOV lane. There are not enough words to describe the loss – only tears. You can read Jenny’s story in this Westword story here: http://www.westword.com/2013-09-19/news/life-and-death-of-jenny-kush/

I’ll try to move on to happy news…

The Attorney General of the United States Federal Government, with a few stamps, undid 70 years of Cannabis prohibition in Colorado and Washington, by declaring they would allow the laws legalizing marijuana to be implemented. It’s a historic event for sure, and a Green Rush is on in compassionate states as a result – but it was on in Colorado well before. It’s not reclassification in the Drug Schedule chart, but it’s a good start and the states that have legal pot are prepared to lead the way as the world converts to Cannabis medicine and hemp energy and food.

Speaking of hemp, since our states flooding, we must believe our crop of hemp planted next year will be of epic proportions. And we will need it, to undo the toxic damage the spilled fracking fluid has left on miles of farmland. The flood was truly of biblical proportions, we had a family member’s house flood at 9,000 feet in the mountains. But still, through it all, I worked my job trimming cannabis at an old church converted to a house of cannabis. Still religious – to me.

A quick stat to ponder: a human being dies in America every 19 minutes from Prescription Drugs. Thanks Dr. Feelgood.

In local news, the recreational use marijuana laws being passed by various cities look good, especially in Denver. Retail sales of cannabis begin in Colorado in most places on January 1st – no medical marijuana permit needed at all. Exciting! Not so fantastic: a little boy in Colorado Springs is being forced into chemotherapy by doctors, despite the fact her Phoenix Tears medicine is working and has eliminated most of the problems. The doctors are threatening to call Child Protective Services on the mother – who is only looking out for the best interests of her son. Any parent would choose a natural treatment that is working over a harsh treatment that doesn’t. You can support the mother by signing a petition here: http://www.change.org/petitions/governor-hickenlooper-colorado-springs-pd-colorado-cps-denver-children-s-hospital-recognize-cannabis-as-an-effective-treatment-for-landon-s-cancer

We are proud to announce the Vitamin Cannabis team had a patient come back from the oncologist with a “cancer in total remission” diagnosis after facing Ovarian Cancer and beating it with Cannabis Oil in just 12 grams!!! Previously, we had only seen this in 60 gram “reset” attempts. It was done over 6 months using only T2 (.04) gram pills 3 times a day. In the effort to spread the information, we have posted the test results of the batch of oils used to accomplish this at our website. It may be that THC Acid, in large amounts, plays a larger role in the restorative process than we first thought. We are all shocked, amazed, and proud of this modern medical miracle, all done with ordinary plants and utensils, all courtesy of Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette! :-)

And on one final note to close out September… when Colorado legalized marijuana, the naysayers foretold companies and people fleeing the state and it’s drugged out culture. After 9 months of cannabis legality quite the opposite has occurred. Our tourism is still up, way up! (Literally they are high, and there are hundreds of them coming to Colorado just for the pot.) Our housing market is up, as more people are moving to our city and state for compassionate care and jobs in the industry. Denver is the fastest growing city in the Wild Wild West of America, and saw a city budget surplus this year for the first time in five years since the recession began. It’s not all the pot tax dollars, it’s all the other dollars that get added up in the growing, processing, selling, and consumption of the grand plant cannabis.

I had the pleasure of working with a young man from Indiana on his first day as a cannabis trimmer/harvester at the legal cannabizness I work for. He was a “pothead” in his home state, working toward and hoping for medical cannabis where he grew up. When the governor of his state told everyone he would veto any medical marijuana bill that came to his desk the young man packed up his things, and took his money and his mind to Colorado. He had a job in our “industry” within two weeks. He is not addicted to heroin or hard drugs. He, like me, just always found pot to be our Drug of Choice.

Now he’s here in our state and your state loses out because your leaders can’t wrap their cannabinoid deficient heads around a medicinal plant that also has so many other wonderful uses and possibilities. I wish it could be legal everywhere now, but in the meantime, Colorado and the Mile High City will welcome your best and brightest young men and women who have a desire to make a difference in their lives, their community, and the world as a whole. How dare you stand in the way of that progress, Guvner?? A quick warning to the non-legal states from someone watching what is happening in Colorado: LEGALIZE CANNABIS IMMEDIATELY or you will not only lose money to us (we’ll gladly take it), but you will also lose your best employees, students, and workers. It’s your choice – the End of Prohibition clock is ticking….tick…tick…tick….

            Happy Fall!
