Howdy from the Wild Wild West Mile “Legally” High City of Denver, folks!

From the largest city in the state with the best economy (yeah…it’s because of the weed), I bring you greetings and salutations, marijuana musings, and news of cannabinoid victories in our state. Open your hearts and minds and here we go!

For starters, according to dateandtime.com, the latitude of Denver is “39 44’20 N.” I just find it fitting that there’s a “420” in our numerical location. 420 is now embedded in our culture, and if it wasn’t for the 420 Marijuana Legalization rallies held each year which got the ball rolling, we wouldn’t have the blessings of hemp and cannabis freedom we enjoy today. I’m not too into the numbers of things, but all 420’s stick out to me – on license plates, serial numbers, and, as it turns out, my geographical location on planet earth. :-)

In major news, the Colorado Department of Health once again tried to place unconstitutional limits on caregivers in our state who privately care for thousands of the marijuana refugees that have flocked to our state for treatment with cannabis medicines that work when all else fails. One individual cares for 80 patients with epilepsy who need a specific CBD plant (Note: it’s not all just CBD, many epilepsy patients use THC/CBD blends). When he brought some of the children he treats and their parents to the state house to testify in a public comment session, there was no way the board could vote against forcing 70 children to find another caregiver. It’s a complicated situation, but the department did the right thing by avoiding this issue… for now… Other attacks on greenhouse growing in favor of highly polluting warehouse grows is on the horizon, and I’m sure the caregiver/patient number issue will be revisited in the future.

In other pot news, the Israeli government did an extensive study on cannabis and PTSD and found immediate cannabis use right after the traumatic event resulted in a significant decrease in the symptoms and future damage. No surprise, cannabinoids can cross the ultra-protective blood brain barrier, and once there they operate to protect and repair the brain itself. Funny how a substance that did that would remain illegal for so long.

Hempcrete is also in the news a lot, with a video you can see here of it blackening but not burning under a propane torch test. For people building in areas that may be prone to wildfires, hempcrete is an incredible option, and we hope to see it being used more in Colorado and elsewhere very soon. More research is also being done on hemp as an energy storage facilitator. It’s absolutely amazing what this plant’s products can be made into. There is news from Realm of Caring announcing they will begin getting their medication to patients everywhere soon. Congratulations to Realm and all involved in this monumental achievement. There is an awesome article that includes many details that only people actually caring for kids with epilepsy/autism can use, that I’m including here: http://www.ladybud.com/2014/09/18/realm-of-caring-announces-charlottes-web-to-be-shipped-to-all-50-us-states/

But the biggest news of all comes from a familiar source: TEAM LANDON in Colorado Springs. All I can say is watch the video on the link below, but only if you want to see a kid who had leukemia vaping a cloud pen and a stunned newscaster asking the question: “Does Cannabis Really Cure Cancer?” Landon’s test results are amazing, from dying of cancer to only needing checkups to make sure the cancer hasn’t come back. All by using cannabis oil/phoenix tears. It’s newsworthy, it has been for a long time, and now it’s finally on the actual news. The story is changing, too; now instead of focusing on whether cannabis oil should be given to children, the news is focused on real cure stories they can’t deny. It reminds me of when I made part two of Vitamin Cannabis called “Save the Children.” I had hoped it would happen sooner, but I’m glad it’s finally happening. Others are seeing it’s the children who are most vulnerable to disease, and it’s kids who benefit most from the cannabis oil.

To Rick Simpson and Christian Laurette, Landon’s story of life is your story continued. Landon and his mom Ran from the Chemo and ran to the cure, thanks to you guys. I hope you’ll watch the video and see just what is happening here in Colorado where compassion rules the day. We hope you find the fall weather turns your cannabis purple. Keep the faith, keep spreading the word, we are all making a difference, folks, we truly are. :-)

Viva la evolucion – viva la revolucion,
